Deck Restoration
We arrived at this Goulburn property to find a very tired-looking deck, weathered by years of sun exposure and in need of some care. The timber had lost its natural oils, faded unevenly and showed surface contaminants that would prevent any finish from adhering properly.
With any a good restoration, we start by applying a specifically developed deck wash to strip away remaining contaminants, old finishes and surface salts. This is an effective way to open the timber grain and remove residues that can cause poor penetration of oils. After the wash we rinsed thoroughly and allowed the deck to dry before proceeding.
Once dry, we rehydrated the timber using a premium decking oil chosen for its durability and UV protection. Rehydration restores the timber’s natural appearance and helps protect it from further weathering. For this job we applied two coats of Feast & Watson Natural decking oil. The first coat penetrates and replenishes the wood fibres; the second coat provides additional protection and an even finish.
We think you’ll agree that the finished deck looks markedly better: colour restored, the grain pronounced and the surface protected. Two coats of Feast & Watson Natural delivered a low-sheen, natural look while offering long-term protection against sun and moisture.
This Goulburn deck went from weathered and fragile to refreshed and protected — a straightforward restoration that preserves the timber and brings the outdoor space back to life.
